Who We Are:

We have taken the name “Bible Church” because we are unshakably convinced that the Bible is the record of what God wants people to know about Himself, about people, and about life. As such it tells us why we exist and offers hope and confidence regarding the life to come. It also gives courage and inspiration to face life now with all its uncertainties and provides practical insights for everyday living. That’s why a major focus of our church is on teaching God’s Word and its practical implications for living lives God would be pleased with. Because we are committed to the Bible as our Guide for doctrine and living, we remain independent (without denominational affiliation).

How We Started:

FBC began meeting at List Elementary School in March 1982. After a few years property was bought on Churchgrove and then the building we are utilizing now was built. In 2004 a new addition was completed to add space for children, youth, and adult ministries.

Why We’re Here:

Our ultimate purpose is to bring glory to God — to have Him be the focus and have Him get the praise. Jesus’ last words on earth guide us as to how He wants us to do that: by making disciples (Matthew 28:18-20closeMatthew 28:18-20 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV) closeMatthew 28:18-20closeMatthew 28:18-20 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV) 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV) ). We believe God wants us to create and maintain an environment where those searching for freedom and meaning in life, are loved, pointed to faith in Christ, and then helped to become His fully devoted disciples.

What We Believe:

The Bible: The sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears.

God: The Bible teaches there is one God eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—each possessing all the attributes of deity. God created man and everything else in the universe including angels, some of whom fell with Lucifer and function now as demons fighting against God’s plan and people.

Jesus Christ: The Bible teaches that Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity, existed from all eternity and is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He will return to earth to consummate history.

Holy Spirit: The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ. At the point of their new birth He indwells and permanently seals them as God’s. As believes journey He guides, comforts, and equips them for personal growth and service.

Man: The Bible teaches that God created humans to have fellowship with him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from God. The grace we need is provided by God provided through Jesus Christ. We need only to believe.

Salvation: The Bible teaches that salvation comes only through God’s grace — not human effort — and must be received personally by trusting Christ alone.

The Church: The Bible teaches that the church has two aspects: the universal church is made up of all those who have trusted Christ as Savior; and local churches, communities of Christ followers in a particular geographic location. The church’s role is to glorify God in various ways including: making disciples, loving each other and serving those in need.

The Future: The Bible teaches that Jesus will return to earth to consummate history. The next event will be when He comes to take to heaven all believers still living and those who have died. He will then bring a 7-year period of Tribulation to the earth at the end of which He will return and set up His kingdom on earth where He will reign. All who have died will be resurrected and judged; believers at the Judgment Seat of Christ for evaluation of their Christian life journey, and non-believers at the Great White Throne Judgment where they will be shown to be without excuse and will result in their eternal punishment.
